Has your dog been skunked?

When we were at our show at Last Chance Ranch over the weekend, I met some one who has the fix for the dog in your life that gets SKUNKED.

          You'll Need:
A clean plastic bucket in which to mix ingredients in.
1 qt. of 3% hydrogen peroxide ( usually sold in pint botles, so you will need 2, use of other strengths isn't recommended.)
1/4 cup of baking soda, ( do not use wasing soda which is much stronger and will BURN your dog's skin.)
1 to 2 tsp. of liquid detergent: ( Soft Soap and Ivory liquid are preferred.)

Apply to DRY dog, working well into the fur. KEEP AWAY FROM EYES. Let stand for 5 minutes, then rinse very well with tepid water, repeat if necessary. Do Not store this mixture, it loses effectiveness and more importantly, it releases oxygen gases and the container can explode. It may bleach the dog's hair( but it's better than the smell.) And remember, the sooner you deal with the odor, the better, as over time the smell sets and its harder to elimate.

I hope this helps you all out if your pet gets skunked. let me know if this works for you.

Generally I enjoyed this mixture test tutorial. It loses effectiveness and more importantly, it releases oxygen gases and the container can explode. Thanks!
